  Very disappointing movie experience at ODEON while watching Dhurandhar. There was absolutely no theatre-like feeling at all. The sound quality was poor — it definitely did not feel like Dolby or premium cinema audio in any way. On top of that, they didn’t even properly switch off the lights during the movie, so it felt like watching a film in daylight or sitting at home rather than in a cinema. The whole experience lacked immersion, atmosphere, and excitement. I expected a proper big-screen cinematic experience but sadly it was far below expectations.

  Overall quite a good cinema however we experienced a few issues on tonight’s visit. Pros: it’s inside the Metrocentre so it’s handy for the shops and restaurants, the seats are comfier than most cinemas, the picture and sound quality in the screens (especially imax) is very good and the quality of the food is nice. Cons: the queuing system for food and drink is very slow, the old way was much faster, now you have to queue up twice, once to use the touchscreens to place your order and then again to collect your food. The Diet Coke self serve machine had ran out of syrup so I ended up with a cup full of soda water which I had to tip out and three out of four hand driers in the ladies toilets were broken. I also miss the gallery experience that they did away with once the cinema had a refurb a few years ago. For how pricey this cinema is I would expect a bit better but with the above issues fixed then it could be amazing.
